I hope it's okay to create a new thread for this:

How do you use your 360° camera for front / side / parallel parking? It's unfortunate that the MG4 Luxury doesn't have any front parking sensors that beep at you. The 360° camera is really useful, though it seems difficult to spot obstacles sometimes (or how close you actually get to something) as things do look weird when you get closer.

Do you have any tips and tricks on how to use it? E.g. taking a right turn into a parking space with a curb on the right that you have to avoid. Or how you gauge the distance to the front with the fish lens camera. Other cars you park next to mostly appear as giant wheels in the 360° view (:

Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but it’s better to reverse into a space. That way you’ll have parking distance sensors as well as a much safer exit from said space too - double benefit.

I already prefer reversing into spaces (My last car only had a camera in the back, no sensors) :)

But I'm mostly asking for the situations where reversing isn't possible or inconvenient.

The cameras are terrible to be fair. Why they have to present the picture as a bugeye is anyone's guess. I find it much easier to use the cameras with the marker lines off, as they are simply far to fat and get in the way of the tiny picture.

Indicating right to turn right into a parking space will activate the camera, select the side or front or back of the car on the screen to get the view you want.
These main views also show some part of the car in the picture, e.g. the rear view shows the rear bumper, use these to judge the distance to obstacles.

As above, when I parallel park next to a kerb I push down the indicator stalk to bring up the camera view and judge distances using the 360 cameras. Great for looking at distance from offside kerbs etc.. I find it much more accurate than my own sense of distances (I'm too cautious I think but hate kerbing my alloys 😂😊)

The only downside to having this option turned on is that the camera view comes up at all junctions when indicating below about 15mph which interupts the Apple CarPlay screen !

The front camera certainly needs a bit of getting used to !! .... but after 22 months I've got it sussed now 😉👍

If you find front view only makes things difficult to judge you can tap on the birds eye view to make it larger and this gives you more of an idea of the cars position in any space and relative to objects around it

Thanks, maximizing the 360° view helps, though when turning the blurry black corners of the car don't instill confidence :D
