I've just read the podpoint solo 1 user guide. I understand your confusion, in their attempt to cover all the bases they've seriously muddied the waters.
Your charge point is smart and can handle it's own charging schedule when connected to a dumb car (mg5 pre face-lift is dumb). You set the schedule in the app and when you plug your car in the lights should go yellow (waiting for scheduled charge).
Podpoint have added a flashing green light for 'the charger is connected to a car but the car isn't asking for power' to denote either a full battery or a vehicle with built in scheduled charging that's not currently demanding a charge.
Set your EV tarrif cheap times in your podpoint app charge schedule. Connect your car up and enjoy cheaper charging overnight.
If you have an early SR you may not have had the software update that fixed the issue of the car asking for a charge timing out after 6 hours. I would like to think it's had the patches during servicing or the recall update for brake lights.
