A year on, are you happy with your Cyberster?

Okay, I'll start. We've had our Cyberster Trophy for 1 year and 1 day. It's our only car. It had it's first service a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, it's everything we wanted it to be. Highlights are (in order of importance):
  1. Great, comfortable driving position. Being 5'9" probably helps, but for me I really didn't want a super low, on the floor, driving position. I'm too old for that! It's the best driving position I've had in any car for a long time, and I can drive for hours without discomfort (I have hip and knee joint problems).
  2. The refinement with roof either down or up. No rattles, stiff body, very little scuttle shake. Way better than the Mercedes SLK we had back in the 2000s.
  3. The doors. They make it super-easy to get in and out of the car in tight spaces.
  4. The looks from owners of more exotic supercars. We've lost count of the number of Porsche drivers who have waved.
  5. The fuel efficiency and great range. We can now genuinely do a day tour in the NW Highlands without even thinking about range. A lot better than our previous EV, a Megane eTech.
Area I feel it falls short of expectations are:
  1. The slightly too soft rear suspension. It can get a bit bouncy at speed on some of the highland A-roads. No worse than my previous car, a Megane eTech, but I'd hoped for better from the Cyberster.
  2. Door sensors that are too sensitive to water sitting on top of the closed door. I have to remind my wife to wipe the sensor before trying to open the door.
For us, the Cyberster Trophy is definitely a keeper until MG come out with a new version with significant improvements in a few years time, or we fall out of love again with open-top motoring and revert to an SUV. Any questions, just ask.

Still absolutely love driving it, never fails to put a smile on my (& passengers’) face. Then again you don’t want people in pretty cars looking miserable!

Is it perfect? Definitely not. Loads of little niggles but easy to live with.

Not seeing another one on the road over 12 months adds to the exclusivity.
Also not having any competition is another plus. Would I switch to another convertible EV? Perhaps but right now there’s nothing else. So currently still planning to keep this until the warranty runs out.

Wish list: can somebody come over to wash the car every week? For all the attention it receives, would like it to be cleaner as it’s used daily.

Yes no problem I’ll wash and polish it for you once a week. I’ll collect it on Mondays and return it on Fridays freshly cleansed in soft Scottish water. And guaranteed to be shining like a new pin when I set off from here on the Friday morning.
O don’t mention it, I’m just that kind of guy 🤩

Unfortunately as it’s my daily, it’s in use Monday to Saturday. It gets Sundays off as the wife & kids can’t all fit in.

Youd need a reasonably priced valet for the two week wash. The valets are more expensive than before. This is good to hear. Suspension wise there should be some aftermarket options in future hopefully.
