Hi everyone! I’m charging at a 11kW AC charger and the car isn’t taking full advantage of it. Any idea why? I’m in the car but no AC on or anything eating nearly 1500W. Battery temp should not be a thing given I was driving and it’s 15C.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: added charger photo. Not only it doesn’t pull 11kW but there seems to be a 800W loss. Thoughts?

The charger can limit the power too, was another car charging as well? 10.4 kW sounds fine to me

You car doesn't have an onboard 11kw AC charger.

Max 7kw (less with losses).

If you had something like a Renault Zoe it goes all the way to 22kw AC.

Hmm you guys are not in the UK, so I'm guessing you have 11kw AC chargers...

Yes, losses across the cable and inverter explain the rest.

Hi! Thank you for all the replies.
I had a Tesla Model 3 before and this specific charger would state 11kW being pulled by the Tesla. The MG only pulls/asks for 10.4.
(This is a dual 22kW charger BTW).
So not only was the car not pulling everything it should (11kW flat) but also there were 1kW of losses 10.4 stated in charger minus 9.4 in app). That’s a lot!…

Welcome ex model 3 owner to MG ZS EV club.

10% charging loss is normal.

According Internet search for "Tesla model 3 charging efficiency", Tesla home charging efficiency is worse.
