All season tyre choices

I have been reading through this thread and note an absence of Continental AllseasonsContact 2 enthusiasts which surprises me given its excellent reviews. Has anyone tried these? I will need to replace my Chinese Bridgestones and am looking for something well balanced that will cope with snow on single track roads and hills but is still efficient year round and won't kick out when turning in the wet. The current tyres are usually fine except for wet handling and being summer tyres suck in the snow.
I have them on the ZS, really improved the car and are lasting well.

Ordered them last night and get fitted today, will let you know. Kwikfit had 20% off them.so £553 all in 👍

I did the same and went via Topcashback for a chance at 2.5% discount although my cash back tracking success has been low recently! My wife will be annoyed as she had Kwik Fit recommend a lot of unnecessary repairs recently. I could have paid £573 using the FLASH15 code at Blackcircles and had ATS fit them but I couldn't resist saving £20 🤠

oh how does anybody decide which tyres to get :ROFLMAO:

My original Continentals are approaching 24k miles and down to about 3mm at the back, 2mm at the front so maybe good to start looking ready for the winter, not had all seasons before though.

Conti All Season Contact 2 coming out at £527 for me on BlackCircles with the 15% off? (17")
Michelin CC3 £564 National Tyres
Goodyear Vector 4 Gen 3 £526 National Tyres

its a minefield isnt it!

The 18" ones cost a little more. I was looking at my old MX5s 16" tyre spec today and thinking I can remember when they were big tyres!

I got mine at kwikfit was 553 for the 18ich conti's

Just had mine fitted, instant difference noted with huge improvement in road noise and bumps at low speed, all feel much gripier. Bring on winter!

Well tested in the wet this moring, very stable no wheel spins or fishtailing like I would have done in the original Bridgestones. They feel really planted, almost like the old tyres were made of plastic!

Just jumping on this thread. If anyone has a Formula One Autocentre near them they seem to have a good deal on the Michelin CC2s. I'm thinking of getting these fitted this Saturday as it seems a good deal at £590.

Those are the wrong load rating they should be 98.

My Mitsubishi which I am in the process of chopping for an MGS5 is on Vredestein Quadtracs. They've been awesome and I would certainly use them again. Previously my Cayenne (which the Mitzy replaced) was on Vredestein Vortis. The Vorti is not available in a lot of sizes & tends to be the very high performance end of the market.

So they are. Thanks. They only search by size on the registration number. Load rating not included.

I noticed this at a few sites, they had both 94 and 98 and the 98 was usually a lot more expensive. I ended up with 98Y Goodyear tyres.

Its a bit of a minefield getting all the right numbers and letters. National Tyre have the Goodyear Vectors for £570 including a 15% discount. Think I'll book that instead. They all seem fairly similar, but they'll be a whole lot better than the originals on my MG4 ER.

Not sure if this thread is still 'live' (last post a year ago) but here goes my update.
The original Continental summer tyres on my MG4 Trophy LR have done 21k miles. The rear tyres are almost down to the wear bars but there is still plenty of tread left on the fronts. We live 1100 feet up in the Pennines so I have decided to fit Goodyear Vector all-season tyres all round. I used to have a set of winter wheels/tyres for my 4WD Audis and BMWs (including a RWD i3) but we rarely get much snow nowadays, just nine months of wet and cold! I was quoted £500 for four (fitted) but when I arrived at my local tyre dealer, they only had two due to a shortage of supply in the North East. I had them fitted on the rear wheels last week and the other two should be fitted tomorrow. A service and first MOT is booked for later this week so just in time with the new tyres.
I was surprised by the tyre shortage news but the biggest shock was seeing the lovely alloy wheels hiding behind the horrible plastic wheel trims. They will not be re-fitted and £16 buys four centre caps. I know that the trims are (allegedly) aerodynamic at high speed but we rarely use motorways and I prefer the look of the alloys now they have had a good wash

I put the Goodyear Vectors on all 4 wheels around 4 or 5 weeks ago. The standard tyres, even though they'd only done 7500 miles, just lacked grip in colder, wetter conditions. Not unsafe, but they didn't fill me with confidence if grip was needed.

The Goodyear tyres are excellent. Quieter on any road, dry or wet, and so much better sticking to the road in wet conditions, whether simply pulling out of a junction or on a very rainy motorway. They give confidence where the factory tyres did not. I live quite high up on the edge of the western Pennines, so it'll be interesting to see how they cope with snow, if and when we get some. So far though, I can highly recommend if you can get them all fitted for £500 to £550.

The alloys on the 18 inch wheels are not that nice, the spokes are just flat and straight, luckily the aero covers are nicer looking than on the 17s so I have no problem with them, plus they are so much easier to clean.

Had the Goodyear tyres for a few months, they are really good.

Totally agree Ken about the ease of cleaning the trims but visually they don't do it for me. As I am an 'Oldie' I prefer the slightly retro look of the alloys

I agree, even though my 18" alloys are just plain spokes I prefer them to the trims, it's all about personal choice in the end.
I've just fitted Michelin Cross Climate 2's. The Bridgestone Touranza's on the rear didn't last beyond 11000 miles😠, apparently the tread depth was reduced to alleviate road noise.
