Having owned my MG3 for over a year now, I'm well used to using the 360deg camera for reversing. However, on turning left, (driving forward), at a roundabout a few days ago, I was quite surprised when the camera came on. What was more amazing was the view. It showed my car from an isometric near side rear corner view, the kerb as it curved away left; and the car in front of me. How does it do that? it was as if the camera was being held outside of the car! Since then I have tried to repeat this experience at the same corner, but the camera stubbornly refuses to come on. Amazing technology! Aitch

I have had that happen when indicating a turn but only occasionally, and I have no idea what triggers this.

Its a setting using the icon that is in the overhead camera screen when the cameras are on. Its called " Steer with peace of mind" or similar! It should put the screen on if stationary with indicators on. It also lowers the sound coming from your speakers while it shows up. I've decided that I've got a cameraman called Bruce who follows me around and stands in the road by the side of the car filming me....

Hi John. What do you mean by 'overhead camera screen'? Are there actually options for which view the cameras are showing, or is it a case of hit and miss? Aitch

When you bring the camera up by either selecting reverse or using the Left steering wheel button (which is what I have mine programmed to) you get a view showing two screens. One is the reverse camera and one shows a view from above in a smaller window. That screen has a settings icon in the top corner which is shaped like a nut for a bolt. In these settings you can turn the radar on and off, steering tracks and the peace of mind when turning option.

Hi I went into the settings, and the radar, steering tracks, and the peace of mind turning are all switched on but the camera still doesn't come on when stationary with the indicators on it comes on when I select drive and start to move away and then goes out when I reach 10 mph does the car need to be in drive whilst stationary for the camera to activate or is their a fault in the system ive tried looking for different settings like the MG ZS EV has for static or dynamic but can't find any thanks for your assistance

Thanks for that, John. I'll try next time I'm driving. Aitch

I've not tried it while not in drive, once I'm driving I always keep it in drive, either just holding the car on Auto Hold or manually pulling the parking brake up (To avoid blinding someone behind with my brake lights at night and rain etc) I'll check when I'm in the car next if it works while in Neutral, I suspect not, as the car isn't expecting you to move while in neutral. The switching off at just below 10mph sounds right though, as this is when my camera go off and you hear the car doors lock too.

Thanks for the reply John much appreciated
