Hi all,
If anyone else has an issue with Android Auto frequently disconnecting, then try using a powered USB hub (I specifically had one with BC1.2 so the phone can charge up to 7.5W).
I recently moved from a Poco to Motorola phone, and whilst I had no issue with the Poco phone, the Motorola would continually disconnect with AA and the same cable. I put in a USB hub with BC1.2 ports, with supplemental power from the cigarette lighter, and my disconnection problems have gone.
