Android Auto. Top bar

Hey guys.
I recently updated from r46 to r59.

When I was on r46, I had the the top bar on AA but I could pull this down. It was my understanding that updating to r59 would remove the bar but I'd at least be able to view things full screen.
Updating hasn't removed the bar but I can now no longer pull this down. Am I being silly here?

Your understanding was incorrect ... R59 (and R63) keep the top bar. The lack of pull-down capability is because of an Android security feature (prevent draw-over of the screen, for some reason) that was incorporated into R59 and later. 1100R38 for the SE has this same "issue".

If you press the Home button you can still pull the menu down from there.
