Android Auto Waze Voice Navigation

Hi,
Does anyone have issues using Waze or Google maps with android auto. If I have the radio on there is no voice navigation but if I put BBC sounds on instead of the radio I get voice navigation. Also having issues with using my phone in android auto, I can dial the number on the infotainment screen but the call won't come through the car speaker. I'm using a Bluetooth connection device to link my phone to the infotainment system as it won't link with a cable, I've tried 5 different cables all of which are data cables, using Google pixel 8 phone.

Phone for calls are using Bluetooth, not Android Auto, so make sure you're phone is paired and connected to the car via Bluetooth

I have a SE LR on infotainment screen software version R13 and I can’t get google maps voice guidance at the same time as the radio. If I play media from the phone first then I get phone sound but no radio. It seems screen radio sound doesn’t mix with phone sound. Apparently this is a fault which can be fixed by updating the software to version R33 but it is not easy getting a dealer to do the update.

Yes my R13 SE does exactly this and asked the dealer to update it to R33 at it's recent service and they didn't - all sorts of excuses as to why they didn't do it - I was not happy.

It works perfectly with a Carlinkit 4.0 though....

Sounds like my dealer. It's going in for the update (third time of asking) at the beginning of next month. If it doesn't happen this time I may return with a shotgun. Or an assault rifle.

That won't work. Try a loaded haggis instead.

Done something similar with diabetic chocolates.

Not using wired Android as I have always used wireless android auto via adaoter and that mixes sound from radio or Bluetooth music from phone with navigation from Google maps without issue. Music sound drops volume and voice nav overlays louder. Just make sure you have unmuted Audi on google maps app...
