Tried Samsung S20+ and S10 using the Anker cable. I am getting an error message on startup to the effect - USB Disk identification failure - which might be relevant

It sounds like you may have a faulty AA Box. Since I bought mine it stays plugged in and connects immediately every time, in fact it will connect before I've even started the car.

I've tried it with the USB that works with the wired connection and it is much better, not quite as immediate as you describe but the screen is on before I finished resetting KERS etc. I'll see how it goes over the next few days, if it goes back to messing about I'll escalate to the seller.
