Annoying Blip Noise

Ive been meaning to ask this questions for some time now!

When driving, i hear a blip noise (one single tone), this occurs infrequently.
However a few weeks ago i drove from East Midlands to Durham (190miles) and this single blip noise occurred several times during the course of my journey.

Can anyone explain what it is?

Is it something to do with driving past schools or similar? (I think there's a setting in the MG4 Trophy satnav options regarding this).

No it can’t be that, as it occurred whilst driving on the M1 & A1M motorways.

It could also be related to boundary changes ... I can only suggest checking the satnav options anyway.

ok thanks, but I don’t think its that. I’ve had the blip/bleep noise (one single tone) since owning the car. But it occurred more often when i take it on a long journey,

Could it be traffic alerts in the radio? Settings can be disabled.

Aren't you more likely to cross county boundaries on a long journey?

I used to get a similar sound, a single 'bong' at around the same area almost daily on my way to work (M4 Bridgend to Cardiff), however on the way home at the same point it did not sound.
I mentioned it when it went in for servicing earlier this year (amongst other niggles) and it hasn't happened since. The service dept couldn't explain what it was nor could they replicate it before its updates

This random beep without any notification of what the beep it is trying to convey happens quite frequently on my car too. It seems to do it without the Sat Nav being active, so is not related to the route. Not worked out what it is yet, as there's nothing shown on the map, nor shown on driver screen.

On my car the "School Zone" alert is vocal rather than a beep (however that is turned off). The traffic alerts are also turned off in radio.

Mine bongs whenever I'm approaching a tolled section or toll booth. It does this even when navigation isn't running on the car.

Just to add to my post above, when it made the 'bong' nothing came up in either display to indicate what it was. I tried various combo's of the safety features on/off, satnav guiding etc, just a single solitary 'bong' and then nothing for the rest of the trip.

Speed camera warning only occur when the Sat Nav has a route

In that case, maybe a school zone. Mine certainly "bong"s every time I approach our local schol, whether a route is set or not and I was sure it did it for the speed camera I pass most days.

School zone is flagged up in a yellow box (along with a verbal alert if enabled). This single bong has no visual indicator on the map, it appears to have no obvious trigger. The speed camera sound is more of a ring tone sound and when sounded indicated on the map.

Next time I hear this single bong I’ll try and drive around and see if it’s in the same point or not.

Try driving the route with the internal sat nav screen displayed, you will potentially hear spoken warnings like "approaching school zone"

Did you go over the speed limit at the time? Even over by 1 mph and it may let you know. I think you can set a speed limit warning in settings. Check what the speed limit is and then check if you are exceeding it.
Hope you find out where it comes from as mine does that on occasion too!!

I don't know if there's a setting to mute that but in mine it just flashes the speed limit indication, no sound effect accompaniment.

I get a single bong or bleep when I cross a white line.
I disable lane assist and the noise no longer occurs.
Bit of a pain every time
If I exceed the speed limit I get no noise just a flashing speed limit sign.
