Mine works fine when the car has good connection for it's internal SIM.
Where I live the Phone signal is flaky on the best towers. Not sure which platform MG use but probably the cheapest. Then the car is parked in a metal garage. I am surprised when it does work TBH.
Being a BMW owner at least there will not be any issues with the indicators you will notice.
