One thing I've always wondered...

The matt green paint, is it a metallic with a clear coat, or how is it composed?

The matt finish is a clear coat of sorts.

Do NOT attempt to polish it, as you will take away the textured finish that creates the matt effect.

There is actually a flat finish powder that is mixed with the paint to make flat black, less for matt finish etc.
I guess they add the flattening powder to the clear coat rather than the colour coat ... That way, a quick coat of clear with the correct ratio of flattening powder, brings back that new car finish appearance

You could also use my method, just don't wash it, you can get the matt finish even on white that way

Just got myself a new pressure washer not that i need one.

Went for an AVA P57, used it to wash the Leaf today and well happy with it.
Must go and get the X Power dirty asap.

Ok people had this car (the Shibon) a week now and loving it But whats the best way to keep it clean. Does the green one need any special treatment over the over colours.

As people gave said. Nothing with gloss in it. I use chemical guys meticulous matte wash, but water alone is fine for a quick wash

I've always used a few drops of washing up liquid in a large bucket, keeps my cars and motorbikes looking like new for years. Just use a microfibre cloth to dry after a rinse with a hose pipe, never with a pressure washer which can result in long term damage to paint, wheel bearings and electrics.

The actual salt (sodium chloride) content of w-u-l is small, but many will steer away from it. SLS - Sodium Lauryl Sulphate - (or other foaming compounds) are used in many car shampoos, but can be a skin irritant.

Like shampoos and soaps for human use, they remove oil and leave the skin dry and itchy.

Further, there are environmental concerns over the production of SLS, so some manufacturers are moving away from it and swapping to more eco- and human-friendly options, both for car care products and soaps and shampoos for us.
