Anyone wash their car today? ?

I use the screw in plugs, used in one of my rear tyres. Brilliant idea, much better, quicker and easier that the strings and t-handle repair kits. Used the screw in plugs also in my motorbikes and even my escooter. Lots for sale on aliexpress

Knowing no better, and being safety-minded, I've always replaced tyres when told it's too close to the edge.

So, officially, a tyre can be repaired anywhere on the tread area?

Have you seen those screw-in plugs? Are they any good?
The plugs with the mushroom head work great, the screw in ones would work ok for a nail, bit a non round hole .... got my doubts, but maybe a line of them along a cut type puncture might work ....

I've used the mushroom headed plugs to repair a torn/cut sidewall on a motorbike tyre, then a big vulcanised stick on patch over the tops on them, inside the tyre wall, then put a tube in it and rode a further 800 km home, it was a s/h tyre from a motorcycle shop, they had none that would fit.
The ride was ok ... all be it, at a slightly reduced speed, but still all the camping gear and the wife on the back ..... the road was so hot between Wilcannia and Cobar, the rubber was coming off in balls under the rear mudguard on the 750 Norton Commando .... and this was back in the 1978 ..... I doubt I'd care to try it these days if it is as hot there as it is here at the moment.

It would certainly help to clean the window rubbers. They seem to attract green growth very quickly. I try to clean them with my collection of boars hair brushes (Oooh, get you!), but they are not very effective. Great round badges and stuff, but not so much with the window rubbers.
I find an old toothbrush works well for the window rubber.

Well, yet another day and I resisted the urge to wash the car, the boiling water might have damaged something .... like me attempting to stand out there .... the few seconds the car would have remained wet probably wouldn't have helped make it much cleaner anyway ....

Strangely enough, we don't have a problem with anything growing on the rubber seals, or moss growing anywhere for that matter .....

I cleaned mine a week ago, within a day it was all grimy again - white paint really shows the dirt! Got some Polar Seal on it which is good, I suppose, but as for actually keeping the car clean, it's a wasted effort at this time of the year.

Quick wipe over, as it was pretty clean anyway. Wheels and tyres done. Is it me or, do car's look loads better, even if you just do the wheels and tyres? 🙂👍

While wiping it over, came across this, how the the hell has it managed to shit there. Must have been dive bomb, manoeuvre. It was like Concrete, as obviously hadn't spotted it. 🙄🤪

@salty, I'd definitely agree that clean wheels and tyres make a car. I always like to dress the tyres. Sometimes just doing the tyres, as it definitely draws your attention away from a otherwise less than spotless car, as @Chrisdriving also points out.
I use Astonish black trim restorer, it's a clear water based product applied with a sponge or pad, not what the name suggests. I prefer that to the brush on glossy wet look products that seem to end up all over the inside of the wheel arch sills and bumpers.

Definitely deliberate. Birds have good eyesight - not like it was flying along and didn't see a bright orange car in front of it.

The little feathered gits sit and wait in a tree until you've finished cleaning it then fly over and, BOMBS AWAY!!

If you hear chirping while you're cleaning your car, that's not the happy sound of nature, it's:

"Dad, I desperately need a shit..."
"Not yet, lass, they've not quite finished the final polish!"

The war against the shitehawks and skyrats is relentless. Many battles to be fought. My weapons of choice are a trigger spray of bird poop remover and microfibre cloth in the car at all times. I have recruited my daughter to the fight so at least I don't have to defend her car as well.
