I cannot bind the app to my car. I know they are both on the same account as the car has picked up the picture I used on the app, but the app will not display any car data. I picked up the car today, an ex-dem model from my local dealer. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you know the dealer definitely isn't bound to the car, maybe try this post:

The biggest problem with ex-demo cars is there bound to someone elses phone and don't work till that account is un/de bound from the car?

It might be a bit painful working through the possible solutions, but hopefully one of these solves your issue. Just going to add one post where the vehicle had to be activated first:

OK, here is an update. I have not had time to try to bind the car to the app again, but I did have to go to the dealership for another issue tonight. When I rang them on Tuesday morning they were going to go on the MG service site to try to debind any device currently bound to the car. I asked them about this tonight and this was the reply, "I asked my boss about this and the app is not available in the UK yet". I showed him on www.mg.co.uk the links the detail of the app and the links to the Play and App Stores.

He is phoning MG in the morning. Read my second thread too, this car has been an absolute disaster so far. Only got it on Monday and it has taken over my life.

This completely cracked me up, because it's so absurd that they don't know iSmart app is available. It's actually listed as a feature in the 'In-Car Entertainment' section of the spec sheet?‍♂️

I can only presume that either the dealer is new to MG, or the salesperson is, or they're not new but just can't be bothered. They're likely giving out all kinds of misinformation. If you need the sheet to view yourself, it's attached on the following post as a PDF. SR/LR should be the same (ignore the pricing...it's increased since then) ⬇️
 
I came to the conclusion a long time ago that product knowledge is poor in the EV dealership world, and that statement isn't restricted to MG.

Totally down to dealer being incompetent, I'm due to collect my car any day as the dealer has it now doing PDI etc. The salesman dealing with it told me he would set up the app for the car on my mobile when collecting car.

I have only had the car since Monday, and love the car, but I do need to be able to drive it. My issues are totally related to the dealership and not the car. I have worse issues than the app not working with them, but that is another thread.

Yeah when i picked up my car, this was also the first thing, the salesperson said to me "Lets set up the app to be sure it works before you leave"

Right now the app is not updating though...Still says it is 6:30 PM and i am, 350 km away from where i am (I was at that place yesterday, but i came home later and right now the car is parked in the driveway)
