Hello all.

MG 4 XPower, not had any SW updates for about 18 months but due in for a service where they said they can do some if necessary.

Brightness setting not being remembered.
Better BT connectivity - mine keeps forgetting the phone - and it never appears in the previous connected section.

Q. Does Android auto work via BT? Just had A BYD as a courtesy car for a week and Android Auto worked via BT. (It was Dolphin Surf - not too bad but low powered!)
Q. When connecting via the USB-C connector to the phone, I do not get Android auto whereas is works on the USB-A connector - is this expected?
Q. Fatigue detection - the BYD noticed immediately if I wasn't looking at the road or closed my eyes for too long, whereas I have never had a warning from the MG4, even though it is turned on. Anyone seen similar?

All that said, love the Xpower.

The BYD will have supported Wireless AA, the MG4 only currently supports wired AA (unless you buy a wireless AA dongle, like I have). AA itself (wired or wireless) uses both the BT connection (for calls) and the "wired" connection for other data. So the BYD will have used both BT and "wired" (WiFi) but to the driver this is seamless.

The MG4 only supports a data (AA) connection via the left USB A port.

Unless your MG4 has the sensor on the top of the steering column (it was removed when the models were refreshed) then there is no sensor to detect eye position.

Awesome, thanks! So the USBC socket is only really useful for charging I guess. Which is fine.

Ed: I defo, have an option somewhere for driver attention or similar. But don't remember seeing a sensor on the steering column, will take a look on the way home.

It can also support a USB C pendrive, so you could use it for music or movies. It simply doesn't support the advanced data connection needed for mirroring. :)

My MG4's USBC (right) port only provides power. It does not read USBC pendrives. Are you sure that you don't mean the USBA (left) port?

The right port (USB C) does read and play pendrives or any other type of USB storage device. I have even plugged in a 1TB 2.5in Hard drive with a USB to SATA adaptor with movies and mp3

My MG4 must be dodgier than I thought. The pendrive works in my phone and laptop, so there is nothing wrong with it.
