Doesn't the HV battery keep the 12v battery charged as long as the HV battery charge is 50%+?

It's supposed to, although that 50% figure is simply a guesstimate - I don't think MG have ever come out and specified this.

Intelligent Charging
The 12V battery SOC (State Of Charge) is constantly
monitored, when the vehicle is power OFF it is possible,
under certain conditions, that the HV battery will
automatically charge the 12V battery to ensure the
vehicle starts. This function will activate and switch off
automatically.

I wish that MG would offer concrete confirmation that process exists & exactly how it operates.

I've got a plan to solve the problem of a flat 12v battery after an extended period of inactivity. But it wouldn't work so well on a day to day basis.

Sorry, I can't say. I've just gone over the manual for the 2023 MG4 Trophy ER we have.

When I type "intelligent charging" into my owners manual.
I get a load of waffle about what happens after a crash & how the fire service will deal with it etc etc.
However, if I keep scrolling all the way to the bottom I get the same info that you posted

I used Ctrl F to search for 12v battery.

I wish that MG would offer concrete confirmation that process exists & exactly how it operates.

Maybe get a Bluetooth aux battery monitor/data-logger, it will show you independently if and how it works?
