I completed a run today - 52miles, average speed 41mph, average m/kwh 3.5. We all know how speed affects average m/kwh, so I thought it would be interesting to see who has the best average.
The rules are simple - you must complete over 50miles and average at least 40mph In this category.
It will also be interesting to see best average m/kwh for the 50/60mph and other average speeds over the 50miles+ distances, If you have had those journeys then post your average m/kwh.
so we could end up with a best average m/kwh for each average speed category.
Not sure about the average 70mph+ category… I doubt if many have done that over 50mile+ journey
here’s my starter…

Good but it needs to be over a distance of 50miles or more…

to get a more accurate figure it should be there and back to reduce the effect of change in elevation and head/tail wind.
it would be possible to drive slowly down a motorway to get a high figure, but it would upset a lot of lorry drivers.

Right here’s the kind of journey I hate from WIGAN to Chalfont St. Peter in Buckinghamshire, 2 Adults boot and rear seats full of luggage all but about 7 miles is motorway M6 M5 M42 M40 195.1 miles which Im sure I could have done without charging, left fully charged this morning GOM showing 220 miles with nothing turned on, 20 degrees so had HVAC set about 18 on all the way speed upto leagal limit in parts but fair amount of traffic plus several sets of road works at 50or60mph averaged 50mph ovel.
Stopped at Hopwood park service’s on M42 had to meet someone there as we where delivering an item to them, so couldn’t have charge there even if I had tried 2 ecotricty pumps 1 CCs and chadomo the other AC and chadomo, only the.AC working at 7kw was going to plug in the AC while we had a spot of lunch when a chap in a Zoe pulled up and was very low on charge so I moved my car out and let him have the spot to get some charge, so onwards on the M40 to Warwick services on arrival car now showing 51% around 119 miles left with HVAC still running 129 when switched off, so spot of lunch and a quick top up to 81% this time again Ecotricity1 CCS 2 chadomo 1ac and all working then onwards to Chalfont St Peter around a further 77 miles of the M40 on arrival 51% left again 119 miles so the GOM is bang on I’m sure we’ll that’s about it this story being the real world off Motorway driving 195.1 miles driven car returned 4.2 MPKWH with aircon on all the way in E1 not the best figures I have ever had but in mainly motorway work it’s not that bad

That 4.2 ave 50mph will take some beating Les!

Ok it’s only 32 miles however average speed is over 40mph and it’s 5.5m/kWh in an MG ZS EV

It’s amazing what you can do with a little effort

Yes. Very good. I cannot get near that at those speeds.

Sorry to all,my apologies as I have posted #11 in the wrong thread this being about the ZS EV and mines an MG5 don’t know how to remove it and don’t want to mess up the thread but I have copied it into the 5 thread on the same subject

It is a respectable figure for average speed of 70mph. Were you on ACC?
I did not use ACC, the motorway had a lot of traffic, I also avoided Kers and eased off the throttle until power meter read zero and let the car slow up on its own after overtaking.
I got 3.8 on the same journey at an average of 65 mph. Battery and tyres like the warm weather, tyre pressure went from 2.4 to 2.6

I'm not even going to bother, I dread the winter as in my ZS I'm only getting 3.5 on a hot day and that is trying to drive economicly - not sure what I should be doing better
