I don’t really understand what the function of “ battery heating” is ? I’ve read that if using a rapid charger ( in cold weather) you should preheat the battery to make it accept the charge easier/ quicker?? But would you not normally be using a rapid charge to top up on a journey when the battery would already be warm? If I’m charging my car overnight when the temp is -5°C as it is tonight, at home, should I use the battery heating option . What is the advantage, if any ? 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Hi! I think I can help. One would think driving alone would heat the battery and indeed it does but not in the same range as optimal temperature for charging. Optimal operating temperature is lower than optimal for fast charging. So you should press that toggle about 30m before arriving so that the battery temperature has risen enough, it takes its time.

Edit: battery temperature is only important for faster charging rates, way beyond home charging. Like 30kW+ unlike 11kW max at home.
