I am constantly having to re-pair my Moto android phone with my mg4 trophy. Sometimes the pairing lasts a week, sometimes until I leave the car. Is this right?

Mine has stayed 'paired' since initial 'pairing' a few weeks ago, connects to AA no problem with the wireless dongle plugged into USBA port.

Common Issue, I have noted myself that the Car's bluetooth mac address changes every time it requests to pair again. I assume it's generating a new bluetooth mac address when the car is restarted and doesn't load its previous bluetooth settings quick enough. Sometimes turning bluetooth off and on in the car fixes it (doesnt stop it happening again unfortunately).

I find that the easiest way to get the phone to connect and keep connecting, is plug it in and open AA, which automatically pairs it to Bluetooth. After that it will automatically pair without plugging it in for a few weeks until the car decides it's the 1st of January 2019 (announced on start up) and everything resets, which it does every now and then at random for some strange reason.

That's interesting. I have no issues with bluetooth as of now, but pairing with carplay is next to impossible. Ironically, using the wireless dongle (i have SE) that works fine everytime.

This is the only issue left for me with my MG4. Adaptive cruise control could be better but this is the only real pain in the posterior.

Hello Barry, I had this problem with my first MG4Trophy and a software update by the dealer during its first service cured it.
I swapped for the current MG4ER last September and the problem had returned🤔. I complained to the dealer who carried out a software update and, up to now🤞has paired successfully. Interestingly, they carried out a recall software update for the LKA and has improved it to the extent I only turn off the audible beep now. It's much better on country roads now. I think this has been noted elsewhere on different threads.

I've had this problem with my Trophy from new. R30, R33, R40 and now R63 and it still remains.

I always use Android Auto but it isn't always obvious it hasn't connected. I don't always get the pairing bluetooth message on the screen. But the lack of the bluetooth icon next to the temp on the screen gives it away.

I've given up complaining about it now as it's been back 4 times for the same issue. It only affects telephone calls for me.

I never had an issue with the Bluetooth for the first two years, and now they've updated to R63 I started to have this annoying re-connect problem. I have yet to check if it can be solved with the trick of disabling Bluetooth from the engineering menu, as I read here in another thread of this forum.

Mine's a right pain in the backside. Pairing can be prompted multiple times per day, and then nothing for a couple of days and bang, back to being asked.

Even more annoying is that repairing doesn't actually work. Instead, i have to go and delete the car from the phone and the phone from the car. Sometimes the car won't even see the phone until I refresh multiple times or toggle bluetooth on the stereo multiple times.

I've even had the stereo lose the connection with the phone whilst it's been playing music from the phone. Madness.

Update on the phone connection and wondering if any one out there has experienced it. Since having the software update a few weeks ago the quality of the sound of voice being received by others on the phone is distorted, as if the mic gain was too high, or the volume turned up to eleven. During several calls to different people it was bad, I had switched from Bluetooth to the phone and back again and you could hear the difference, clear as crystal via the phone.
I reported it to my dealer who checked it over and could find nothing wrong. My wife had fortunately recorded our test conversation on her phone so we played it back to them when I went to pick it up, they were mystified and had tried several phones and each was OK. I tried it with mine talking to the technician that had carried out the checks, and hey presto, clear as a bell🙄😏. Now I'm mystified😳
The other thing that happened since update is the ACC intermittently cancels while driving along. Sometimes within yards of it happening firstly, then miles, but I'll ask this question in the right place on the forum. Hey ho, the joys of high tech motoring😁
