Me and my family had some really bad experiences with Renault and Peugeot cars in the past. I swore I will not own again even if it was gifted to me 😁
Bit like with wife's company with their fleet of mg4's they have had so many niggly issues and various cars off the road at times that they refused to renew the deal with MG.

Relatives Mégane has been faultless and Renault have more EV experience than most from the Zoe, the 5 has been a massive hit

Like the title says, I've got buyers remorse and I haven't even got it yet.

I have order the car via Araval, it is to be my company car. I'm a field service engineer, covering the lower half of England.

I ordered the IM6 Long Range thinking this car would be great for the job. However, after reading the posts in this forum and on the FB page, I'm starting to feel like this was the wrong choice.

From folks complaing about the poor efficiency, lack of preconditioning, ambiguity surrounding OTA, and the omission of things like auto high beams etc etc. is this car really worth it? Yeah, it's quick, but why though when the battery will just drain faster! Smart stuff like the ACC / Pilot mode have people complaining about it, but hey the car can park it's self! Dealers no nothing about this car, when I went for my test drive I knew more about it than the dealer did.

I was excited about getting this car, I watched practically every review on youtube, even the Thai ones! I was hyped! But now I'm reading very little in the way of positive comments from owners. And I'm wondering if I should have either opted for a smaller battery ID.7 or pay more CC tax and get a plugin Hybrid.

Does anyone have anything positive to say about this car that isn't about the faster charging?
I’m close to ordering one as new company car but feel the same.

Narrowed my choice to Enyaq 85 Edition - safe, dependable, big enough for me 6ft3 and 6ft son who’s still growing… but the Enyaq is dull dull dull, or the IM6 LR which is big, comfortable, well specced and much sexier.

But, I have a huge problem with the inefficiency. It’s a company lease so it only costs me BIK and 80% of my charging is free at the office, but I’m still struggling with the efficiency. I would not part with my own hard earned cash for one but would for an Enyaq.

The head says Enyaq but the heart says IM. I’m so confused but still want the IM. It’s about £35/month more expensive so there’s a chance that the decision is made for me.

Just as a note on an earlier post, the latest model MG and I< will have OTA updates, but not the earlier MG models ..... this was from the dealer rep who delivered a presentation on the latest MG and IM releases at our state branch meeting of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association ......

My impression after going for a lap through Adelaide streets in an IM6 .... if I had the money I'd buy one in a heart beat .... well actually, if I lived past the evening I drove another vehicle through our front gate I'd buy one ...... and an MG XPower

Get an IM, you know you want one. 🙂👍
The Enyaq is a perfectly good motor.
But God, it's boring. 😴

My neighbor had an Enyaq. They actually had to get rid of it because of problems. Is really VAG reliable? Hasn't been the past. Don't know how folks can say that they are cars that last.

Enyaq and IM6 is in two different leagues

What are your driving habits? Are you a high mileage owner?
Because if most of your charging will be at home then the efficiency difference is going to be a couple of pounds per year.

Also Enyaq being reliable is an overstatement. Yes they have been around for longer, therefore a known quantity, but they have their fair share of issues.

I hear you loud and clear - I was in the same position as you. I was and continue to be like a swinging pendulum about it. I have the LR on order via Salary Sacrifice which is due to be delivered in February.

However, I have had a word with myself about it - it was a great price and as @NikLiverpool has pointed out 90% of the time, I will be charging at home (not overly bothered about efficiency truth be told as I only need to cover a few hospital trusts - furthest one from my base is a 40 mile round trip) and not concerned about charging en-route as I am well used to it with being an electric car driver since 2020.

I have rationalised the fact that all cars I have owned have had niggles and some (at times) have completely frustrated me - the best I have owned ever was a Polestar 2, was pre-facelift and it wasn’t the most efficient, had some gremlins and although I loved it - it still frustrated me at times.

Now the only concern I have is the car park I am allocated in work is tight at best for such a beefy car and unfortunately, kn***eads who don’t give a flying poop if they scratch, bash or even (not me a colleague) just collide with a car and drive off - but this sort of behaviour I feel is becoming the norm these days!

Hope you feel better about it soon bud, I still have the swings but less so in the last few weeks!

Update……

Boss said yes to IM6 so ordering process started! Lease company indicating 16 weeks for delivery.

Big question is what colour? Think my preference is blue, white, grey and least favourite is black.

@tsedge and @LenEV2016, Citroen have liked their single steering wheel connection for years. Renault on the other hand have gone a bit stalk and button crazy on the 4 and 5.

Driven my relatives Mégane numerous times and it works better than it looks.
2 normal stalks
One for gear selector, like numerous other EVs
Big button on bottom right is drive modes, works perfect.
Paddles are regen levels up one side down the other.

Stalk for media/radio.

Physical buttons for fan speed, temp, heated seats, steering wheel, rear demister and physical buttons for lka, safety systems.

It's a better safer setup than the 4 and my Born, not driven the IMs but they are also touch screen heavy

I can't recall the last time I touched the screen of my Model 3 while I was driving. Same goes with the wife's BYD.
A/C; I have one temp set all year tbh and set on auto. Tesla has also auto for the seats.
For everything else I find voice commands more than enough.

I am getting frustrated when I see cars being presented and getting criticised because you have to delve into a sub-menu to adjust the mirrors or the seat. I am like how many times do you adjust these WHILE driving?
