Can I limit charging to 80% and if so how?

I can’t see how I can plug a timer into my wall charger. It’s easier just to start the charge at around 40% and charge over 4 hours at my Octopus Go rate overnight.
Re the bulbs, not sure it’s so bad that it’s worth spending £50 on!
