Can the middle headrest at back be detached to increase visibility?

It wasn't on the MY23 so who thought it should be included on the MY24?

I believe it's designed to be stored between the two front seats.
Yup the metal arms fit perfectly around the centre console, although you do end up blocking the footwell space with the padded part of the headrest. Having previously owned a Mini Clubman having something in the middle of the rear screen doesn't really bother me.

On the off chance someone might read this old post, does anyone know if MG or a third party manufactures a plug to fit in the holes at the top of the rear seat once the centre (middle) headrest is removed?

To be honest, I doubt it. Took mine out and it's never bothered me. But if it does you, what about those rubber bungs that's used to fill holes, think they would do nicely. Halfords probably do them. 🙂👍

My wife has been using the car today and when she got home after work and then the gym, she mentioned that the middle headrest blocked her view out of the rear window, so i quickly removed the headrest, but have not really looked at the holes in the rear seat.

Your suggestion does make sense, so I will have a look.

Well ferreted out @MG Clive .

I removed my MG4 rear headrest as mentioned here in Aug 24, it made a useful difference to visibility, but the holes never worried me, the current MGS5 doesn't obscure in quite the same way, so it's still in place (at the moment)

I have a few concerns in life, some with my MGS5, but not needing to worry about a couple of holes left by removal of a centre headrest which can hardly be seen!!!!

But if it worries ya and the plugs are the correct size Clive has the answer!!

Personally I can live with having the two holes. However for she who must be obeyed 😉 it's a different matter.
I'm all for a quiet life, so if buying plugs keeps my beloved happy, then that is fine with me.
