Can you remove charger cable 'Caddy'

After 3+ years I thought I'd see if the granny charger worked and where I could fit it in the garage. I found the perfect place to mount it in the garage but the Caddy Cable 'Ears' stuck out too far and could be hit if returning the wheelie bit out of line. So I would like to remove the Caddy. Has anyone done this? If so how is it held in place on the charger?

As far as I know, the charger just slips out of the back of the caddy, it might be a tight fit, but if you remove the strap, then sit the handle on something a couple of inches high so that there's a gap underneath, and push it out from the top/front, it should come out.
