Saturday night, I put His Lordship on charge.
We had got home on 7%. I looked on the MG app later and noticed it had got to 18%.
As I got ready for bed, I checked again. It still said 18%, then as I was looking at it, it clicked over to 19%.
The charge rate said 0.12 kW, which it always starts off with before it ramps up to anywhere between 5 and just North of 7 kW.
The Ohme app said it was charging, the MG app said not...
So I chucked on shorts and a T shirt and went outside.
I unlocked the car, unplugged, shut the flap, locked the car, then reversed the process and set the Ohme app to charge once more.
I sat downstairs for a while checking to see what was going on with the app. I also watched the smart meter IHD in the kitchen go amber. Good, I thought, it's beginning to charge.
Then it went green. Bugger.
Normally, it goes from green to amber to red and stays there until charging is done.
Next, I tried tapping the Max Charge button in the Ohme app, but that didn't work.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app and that didn't work either.
Then I had a brainwave. I went back to the car, unlocked it, unplugged the lead, got in and started the car up.
Then I got out, plugged it back in, locked up and set the Ohme app to charge. By the time I'd got inside, the IHD was showing amber then red and the Ohme app was registering 6.96 kW.
Seems you can right most glitches by either shutting down and restarting the car or doing the 10 milli spanner trick.
I have never needed the latter, but we've had quite a few issues that have been solved by using the former method.
The weirdest one was when we parked once in Lymm and got back to find the car would not move.
It fired up as normal, but would the thing go into gear?
That took two cycles of shutting down and restarting before it would drive...
