Groan, my last couple of trips have been frustrating. Touching the door handle doesn’t work, but the remote does. Entering and sitting, the car reports,’key not found’. Power up required the NFC card on the B pillar. Locking at the destination worked with the remote, not touch. Returning home requires the NFC card again.
After returning home today, I spent some time searching through the menus for anything that may help. I eventually stumbled on the ‘User’ menu where I discovered I was not logged in to the car. The screen said to scan the displayed QR code with the phone MG app. It took some searching in the MG app on my phone, but I finally found the scan feature. I successfully completed the login. Now the door handles lock/unlock perfectly, and no more ‘no key found’.
I don’t recall ever doing this tap dance, but at my age I am doing well to remember my wife’s name. Assuming I had previously been logged in, the question is why was I logged out?
Has anyone else run into this?

Not had this so far. I assume you have to be logged in to use the app so have you been using it?

What has the world come to when opening a car door needs logging in, apps, NFC cards, menus, QR codes and a 'scan' feature

They don’t - it just provides greater security. With those keys I could get in your car and drive away in under 2 mins…. But, then of course I could have done that in my old Ioniq 5 owing to its security flaws!
