Carly MG4 alternative

I know that scanners like the Carly one can sort of customise features of cars like what happens when you unlock it etc... Does anyone know if there is a scanner like that for the mg4? I'm not asking to remove safety features or anything I just like the idea of being able to customise stuff and mess around with it.

I think you would struggle with customisation of MG EVs. It seems that MG are more likely to lock out access than VAG as an example. I have an Audi Allroad and P/Xd my Skoda Kodiaq for my MG S6 - the Kodiaq was a 2022 model and on the cusp of having most customisations locked out.

I already know you can access more than the app shows you as on home assistant I can see the window status of my car too.

Is that home-assistant.io? That will pull available data and show you, but I don't think you can manipulate anything in the car with that. Customisations on most vehicles post 2024/5 are getting locked out/down by the manufacturer to stop us having fun.

I've got a Carly and subscription for my BMW, also got a generic OBD diagnostic scanner from previous ICE cars, tried plugging that into my previous MG and it threw a complete hissy fit, think you will struggle to find one for an EV which is so much based on software.

Not exactly home-assistant.io but basically yes. I was just meaning if there are things not visible in the app that you can do/see it wouldn't be that weird for stuff it to exist.
