Since yesterday I have a probelm with Carplay. It does not connect anymore. I tried to reboot the phone and the infotainment, soed not work. If I remove my phoen from carplay (and remove the MG in my Phone), it will conect once. After the next start of the car, it does not connect, I need to setup the new carplay connection again.
Before it worked witout problems. Yesterday I got new tires, but how could this affect carPlay?
Does anoyone have an idea?
Regard,
Chris

Hey, ive been having this exact same issue too. I suspected it be the ios 26.4.1 update but i cant seem to see it being a widespread issue so im not entirely sure.

Did you manage to fix it?

Yes, I Managed to fix it. I deleted it at the car and Phone, restarted the Phone again and after the Next reconnect it works again.

Same issue hear but unable to fix the problem
Exactly the same issue for me and strangely I had a new tire fitted the day before the problem presented. However, like others I believe this manifested following the 26.4.1 update.

Eventually solved it in the same way as “dagobertch” however I also ran a factory reset on the infotainment system. Just remember, ALL your saved settings go with the reset.

Am facing the same issue after the update to 26.4. In my case, CarPlay could not be connected despite Bluetooth connection is good

For me, I can connect after redoing the bt and CarPlay setup, but then it will fail to connect after I restart the car.

A bit frustrating…..not sure whether it is mg or IOS. Certainly hoping it is IOS as I do not foresee MG doing any update.

Did you remove your phone from the car's memory before re-connecting? I just wonder if the car is trying to re-connect to the pre-updated version of your phone's software and the security protocols are different.

If not tap the phone icon at the top right of the App Connect tile and on the next screen your phone should be listed, select Remove. Now try re-connecting your phone.

Hi
Ya, I have tried that. Remove phone from MG and remove MG from phone. Started afresh. It will get connected and works fine during the drive. I actually can also disconnect and reconnect CarPlay during the drive. But when I end the drive, went off can came later to restart the car, CarPlay cannot be connected. BT connection is fine. And if I redo the whole sequence again, it will get connected

Thanks

I had the same problem, I went to dealership and asked for Software Update. They've updated it to R33 and CarPlay issues went away

That’s very encouraging. Unfortunately maybe not that simple for mine in Singapore to do a software update. Maybe different software versions too.

I just checked my car MPU software version, ended with R25. lol…way back dated I guess

IOS 26.4.2 is out. Tomorrow will see whether this resolved it

Update : nope. Does not resolved it. CarPlay failed after every drive

I and others have the same problem with the new MG4 Premium which I believe shares the same infotainment system hardware. Not sure if software versions are the same across the models.

My iPhone is on iOS 26.3.1 (a)

I have been able to reinstate the auto connect reliably by: -

Deleting carplay connection from phone, deleting the Bluetooth connection from phone and doing the same for the carplay and's bluetooth connection on the infotainment.

Change the name of your phone to one that is different to the name used for the originally deleted carplay connection, then reboot the phone

Worked for me every time especially after some of the IOS updates. I’ve just had to do this after the latest 26.4.2 update.
