Changed up again, MGS5 on the drive

This is very encouraging news….
I’ve just ordered a Troohy S5….
On the test drive, I felt that the S5 didn't leak miles at 70 the way my MG4 does. Which means I drive at 65 in the MG4 on motorways which has been no big deal, but even then I struggle to make a 230 mike round trip without a top-up.

Dealer was suggesting that better streamlining of the car plus a more streamlined battery was the reason for improved performance.

Any tips for decent range at 70 most welcome……..
Does it really make that much of a difference driving at 65 vs. 70?

😊
Still getting the speed warning even though it’s switched off..
Also the regen defaults to 1 and needs switching up every time.
Plus points the ac is excellent and the economy too. Still pleased with it 👍
Hi you have to turn off speed warnings on sat nav aswell inches sat nav settings

Valid point when placed in the context of time. Good video!!

However, on the motorway, 70 rather than 65 gets me past the lorries a little brisker, and I’m vaguely less likely to be cut up by other road users changing lanes aggressively.
I agree it’s a small almost worthless difference!

However, my point about the MG4 draining range at 70 seems valid. If I have to push on a bit to get past something, miles disappear. It may just be that the S5 is better on the motorway than the MG4. We’ll see……

Aside from that, the S5 is more comfortable, and bigger, and appears less fussy with regard to quite a few things.

Part of me feels that the S5 does what the MG4 could have done, only it didn’t quite make it. Don’t get me wrong…..the MG4 is brilliant in many ways and it’s been great for my first dip into the EV universe. But the S5 looks like a great upgrade.

Yeah, I will absolutely give it a squirt to overtake when the situation requires it and I want to get past some slow moving traffic.

I even accidentally got up to about 80 the other day when doing this.

Then once past the slow movers I go back to 65 in the slow lane until hitting the next caravan or whatever.

Yeah, it is pretty wild that the S5 is about as efficient as the MG4 even though on paper it is a much less aerodynamic shape.

I was reading earlier posts on this thread, and the inadvertant operation of the tailgate whilst exploring screens whikst stationery cropped up. What do I need to look out for to avoid accidental tailgate operation?

I get that there's the dosie-doe foot operation externally, and am grateful for the heads-up on the charging cable that operated the boot when passing under the rear bumper!

I had an inadvertent tailgate operation when I had to squeeze past the back of the car because it was parked close to the garage door. Obviously my feet strayed under the bumper line and bingo, it started to open.
