Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else with the same issue. I drive an MG4 Trophy and recently discovered several cracks and scratches on the rear plastic/glass panel — particularly around the MG logo and along the edge trim of the back door.
The car hasn’t been in any accident, and I haven’t bumped into anything or subjected the area to unusual stress. The damage seemed to have developed on its own, so I suspected it could be a material defect, stress cracks, or temperature-related.
I contacted my dealership in Norway, brought the car in for inspection, and I’m happy to say they agreed to cover it under warranty. Since there were no signs of external impact, they’ll be ordering the parts and replacing them at no cost to me.
I’ve also seen others mention similar cracks on MG4s, so it may be a known issue. If anyone else notices the same thing, I definitely recommend having it checked — especially while still under warranty.
