Mind you that sort of defeats the object a bit as if you miss a sign you could be speeding for ages before you notice another. (We have 20, 30 and 40 limits around town).

Mine picked up a roadworks sign that had fallen sideways and read it was 124mph speed limit ?

Just stay at 30mph if you are unsure then when you are satisfied that the speed limit has changed, say to 40mph just flick the column up twice. Always better to be careful though.
