PSA - check with MG after your car has been serviced. I had a shock with mine this morning. The garage had incorrectly put down the wrong item type for the service so it was showing as not serviced by MG.

Garage has now corrected their mistake and I’m about to get MG to confirm all is ok.

I wonder why it needs service, and what they do for their money. My Tesla 3 performance had zero services so far, 112000km and almost 4 years old. I do keep an eye on brake pads and discs, but they are good for at least another 100000km. Airconditioning still very good, but might plan a fill up after winter.

My Uber driver said he hadnt seen a dealer in 3 years. They just go by notifications and OTA. Lol...

Its more inspection check and making sure everything works as should.

Sounds like the service date/mileage wasn’t reset.

You can do it in the engineering menu yourself

I Just did the first Service in Spain 24k Kms and the cost was 90€ I think a reasonable price

Yes, they neglected to reset the service counter. It's in the engineering menu, if you want to do it yourself, and chase down the secret sequence to get into that menu.

The worry is of course what else did they overlook or forget?

Quick share on 1 yr service experience of GT, at ~14.4k miles (just under the 15k).
Service cost just under £160. Extras I paid for were:-

• Check, balance, track, etc on wheels - vibration at motorway speeds. Turns out the UK potholes I can't avoid had upset the balancing on all 4 wheels.
• Upgrade software from R31 to R34 at my request (no warranty reasons triggered it). Related to other threads, the sound is improved - feels for enveloping so guess there's more volume from subwoofer. One benefit I didn't expect was a new "preferred settings" option - rather than 10 presses before driving to set up the "assists" as I like them, I can now do this in 3. Same feature is apparently standard in IM models.
• Intermittent failure of the charge flap to unlock (similar threads in forum) - they have confirmed this is a faulty flap and have replacement on order as warranty replacement. Said it was in stock in UK so hopefully not long to wait.

Overall cost was ~£400, most of which at my request, and very pleased with the experience (MG Rawlinsons, Bury St Edmunds). Just awaiting the replaced charging flap.

It's great to have a good and trusted dealer.
The costs are usually higher than expected; here in the Netherlands, the hourly rate at MG dealers is already around €180.
But you just have to keep enjoying your beautiful car
