What's the make and model?I use a 360 degree camera which "sees" out all the windows. It was useful when someone went into the back of me at a pedestrian crossing. It showed the view out of the windscreen and the back window which I sent to the insurers, and although the third party denied liability, the camera evidence showed they were.
(Also, I plug it into a battery pack when parked up and it acts like a sentry mode)
Mileage varies on what's classed as a recommendation, but I have a couple on a shortlist and will likely go with the second one as it best suits the requirements I have, at a reasonable price.
There are also lower res versions as well as plenty of other makes depending on what you want:
-Thinkware U1000 4K
-Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4K
Amazon product ASIN B07RXPP143
The Duo version of the latter was fitted to a ZS EV here, and around the 1:11 mark there's footage:
For more sample images, I don't think there's a channel does better side by sides:
It looks a good choice. Can’t see any mention about FoV.Personally, I've ordered the Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4K. Further info below, including video from a user who has already installed this on his mk1 ZS.
Also there are some other suggestions if you check/search the threads in the 'Upgrades & Accessories' section
Front: 130° wide viewing angle, rear: 140° wide viewing angle. For me it captures what I need without the footage wandering too far into fish-eye territory. Mostly I was after true 4k and decent detail capture at a reasonable price. It looks a good choice. Can’t see any mention about FoV.
For me, I think a rear cam may be quite useful. Just last week I was again bumped from behind in traffic (whilst stationary!), and I would've liked to have footage. Luckily in that case it was minor.Having rear camera is great.
You'd have to call and ask your dealer. When I was enquiring, some will do it themselves and some will point you to a local that comes in. If not, try RAC or Halfords... sometimes they do EVs, sometimes they don't.While we are talking about dashcams is that something MG dealers can install for you? I have no intention of messing with fuse box but I am actually considering getting dashcam too since it's first expansive car I will own. If installing dashcam requires any wire work I will need someone who can do it for me.

I got it off eBay for £25. I thought, for that price even if it doesn't work it was worth a try, and it's been brilliant. I've just had another look on eBay and the prices are mental. What's the make and model?
Will it work with the mirror usb port?
That's great feedback, and I've had that happen to me too, where a car tried exiting the parking lot without paying for their ticket and went to the back of me. That was 17 years ago, and back then no dash cams... Thankfully the parking attendant saw it and that way my insurance covered me, and the pr*ck said I reversed into him.I use a 360 degree camera which "sees" out all the windows. I noticed on their website though that they don't fit to EVs at the moment. :0(Halfords fit their dashcams for a reasonable fee
It varies, some do, but some call it a modification if you hard wire it in and up your premium a bit.Do UK insurers give a discount if you have a dashcam installed?
That is crazy. It varies, some do, but some call it a modification if you hard wire it in and up your premium a bit.
That is really crazy. In what way would a dashcam be a ‘dangerous’ modification?? I think that needs challenging…It varies, some do, but some call it a modification if you hard wire it in and up your premium a bit.
