Discharging stops in 3 minutes

Hello,

When discharging from my MG, if I turn the car off and lock it the discharging is turned off in 3 minutes. So, I cannot use the discharging if I turn the car off and lock it. I´ve seen YouTube videos where people use the discharging with the car turned off for a long time and no problem. I cannot find any settings to change this on the car. Can anyone advise?

Could you expand on that? I don't understand the question.

Are you talking about V2L? If so, it sounds as if you have a pre facelift ZS, which will need a software update to enable V2L when the vehicle is switched off and locked.

Mine does this (72 ZS trophy Connect). I asked for update to fix along with the Tesla fix at a service. The V2L one didnt work but the Tesla one did. I am changing to an S5 in about 8 weeks. Hopefully it will work properly in that. I only really want it for an emergency if the house loses power. I'd run a couple of key things off it eg the fridge freezer and lamps / lights in one room. The only time I have actually used it is when vaccuming the car with a plug in miele. I could have plugged in through a plug socket in the hall or front room with the cable though the window. But it was slighly more convenient using the car.

I see in this YouTube video someone using the discharge, shutting the car down and locking it. Then proceding to use the discharge for a long time measuring all sorts of things with it. I´m sure the car is discharging all the while, for probably up to an hour, depending on how long it took him to shoot the video.

So, I know from that he has a ZS, it says so in the title. So, I know it is possible.

Mine pushes out up to 7kW, but I never push it over 3kW. It depends what value resistor is fitted in the plug

Comfort in EU speak is the SE LR in UK speak ... base spec car with bigger battery. Luxury in EU speak is the higher spec Trophy in UK speak.

I don't know specifically about your ZS EV but on the MG4 and MGS5 you set the % limit that discharging the battery by V2L will go down to. Just check it's lower than the charge in your battery.
