As it is sometimes awkward to discover if specific features are supported I thought a separate thread could help:

a. It seems the car will record video if you fit an SD card (why it does not come installed is beyond me given how inexpensive they are). However, what video is recorded? If is senses an incident does it protect that recording?
b. Does it have preconditioning for the HV battery when going to us a DC charger. Is this automatic? What are the criteria for it to activate?
c. Is there really no parcel shelf supplied??

A. It records the front camera only, as fairly crappy quality. Think budget dashcam quality. It has continuous recording and will save event recordings into a different folder.
B. No option to do anything with the battery from the car or App
C. Nope, but there is a recess that looks like there can be one fitted. Not seen an option for it.

Regarding parcel shelf, I was listening to the podcast run none other than by the hosts of this forum. There is apparantly one for the IM5 available only in China which you can get from Alibaba. Its a small thing though. May come to the UK, not sure. In my current car, I took it off early on while packing for a roadtrip. Never put it back on. I have owners complaining of rattlings!

This is a bit mad! Tons of accessories that we can order and receive even before the car arrives! I guess that's the advantage of ordering Chinese cars. Loads of accessories, all made in China anyway! My current car has hardly anything!

My current car was first launched in 2017, with a facelift in 2020 and 2023. Our accessories page will not fill up one of the IM6!

Chinese cars tend to have loads of accessories available, they are all made there then put on Chinese based sites like Ali express etc.

Exactly my point. They make these little knickknacks and gadgets for everything anyway. So plenty of stuff for their cars. Which is really good! The roof shade is helpful although I have to say, test driving the car on a sunny day, after it being left in the sun, it wasn't toasty at all compared to most cars!

Not really. The new Model Ys imported now are Berlin made.
Not sure though if that makes them better.
The Chinese model 3 where far better quality wise compared to my American one...

Its a joke. Paraphrasing Goodness Gracious Me. But certainly with the gigafactory there, and the popularity of Teslas, there would be many accessories.
