Driver's window is dead

This happened to me on Day 1 of owning the car, the garage gave me a courtesy car but they had mine working again the same day.

I had this problem with the trophy, so I took it back to the dealer they stripped everything out and found nothing wrong, BUT they reckon it was just a loose connection, it has been fine since, going on 2 months still ok

Had my brand new MG4 for 3 weeks and the driver's window has stopped working. It does nothing at all. The other 3 all work perfectly.

Since it stopped working I have charged the car fully, reset the info screen thing, left the car locked for 10 hours, drove the car 60 miles, still no life from the window at all.

Have tried booking it in to a main dealer under warranty but they can't see it for 5 weeks.

Same happened to me. Luckily the window was closed. Got it to the dealer early and all that was needed was a software re-boot. All good since then.

Hi all.
This happened to me lately, although I don't know how long it had been an issue as I've not had anyone sat behind me in ages.
Rear driver side window wouldn't operate from either button, no sounds, nothing at all. Called the dealer who 'offered' me a £252 diagnostic check up in January. I looked it up in here, and after centering the steering wheel, I disconnected the battery terminals (negative was already very loose, so it may have helped cause the problem) and gave it a few minutes before reconnecting. I put all windows down and up again, turned the wheel full lock right then left, I let the car bong away for a few more minutes and then after it quietened down, I turned it off and on again. Perfectly fine since. Cheers all!

Happened to me only 3 weeks after delivery. Took it to the dealer who said the software needed a re-boot. They did it free of charge and since then, no issues at all. I asked the dealer if I could have done the re-boot but (predictably) he said no.

A reboot occurs every time you disconnect/reconnect the 12V battery!

Cos dealers need you to pay stupid money to do simple things...

Can't speak for everyone's experiences of course, but I think the manual states if the window motor gets hot it stops the window for a minute or so before you can use it again.

Had this issue on the front passenger window and disconnecting the battery cable has resolved the issue for now at least. Thanks to the people on the forum for sharing the tip.
