This is fascinating. I guess you always assume what you have is ‘normal’. With my ER, however I have left the screen on exit, I always get HVAC on startup any have to change manually to anything else.

My X Power always, powers up, with the HVAC on, which I just took as normal. But seems, some do, some don't. Personally I think, it's better starting up with the HVAC on. As it's usually the 1st thing you set (well I do) especially in Winter. But obviously others will have different routines.

I powered off and locked my Trophy with the HVAC still on. When I powered up the car the HVAC came on and the HVAC screen showed for about 3 seconds before being replaced by the Home screen.

Welcome Pete1w. If you have the HVAC button on, that's the far left button under the screen, it will default that screen. If you press the icon on the screen bottom right with the wee car on it that will take you to the settings page with all the tabs along the top, if you press the one with a small house on it that takes you to the Home Screen with the state of charge, weather, radio and sat nav panels...that's on the Trophy of course. As a matter of interest, I switched off the HVAC before locking it, when I returned and sat down the Home Screen came on.

Mine also shows the HVAC screen as I sit down, and I also assumed it was normal. It “opens up” on the Home Screen, and then the HVAC screen slides down as if I pulled it from the top within a few seconds.

Like @salty said, it works for me in winter.
