Electric tailgate/power back door for MG4 EV(EH32)

Mod or update? Can you confirm this is standard functionality or user assisted?

What do you mean by "standard or user assisted"? The standard car does not have a powered tailgate, and I'm not aware of any official MG option for one.

The mod/update in the video shows the tailgate lifting and closing using the remote keyfob.

Another mainland Europe feature we don't get offered perhaps given its a Spanish member?

Look at the removed trim, bundle of wires and laptop in the boot. It's clearly a modification. One that I wouldn't waste anytime on either, never really understood the need to add all that weight and complexity for such a simple quick task.

yes, spotted hat right away! Clearly a mod.

So true, I could open and close the hatch 5 times faster than this contraption.
I would actively avoid any car with this frustrating feature fitted TBH

Is there a way to adjust the preload of the springs? I bought my MG4 used, and the previous owner had installed an electric tailgate kit. Overall, it works, but 9 times out of 10 when opening, the tailgate isn’t pushed out far enough. After a few seconds, the car pulls the gate back in, as if it thinks I want to close it. I’ve already tried increasing the opening speed, but that hasn’t solved the issue.

Thanks, but this only addresses the struts from the factory - In my case I have completely new ones for the electric tailgate.

Looks like this:
