I wonder if Toyota have an option to allow their owners to take off their Catalytic converter and store them in the house???

Arguably, I suspect that illegally removing a Catalytic Convertor might be rather "safer" than risking death by cutting through a live electric cable!

Indeed, no argument there!

But I thought the context of this suggestion was that of possibly stealing the cable whilst the car is charging! Unless you have a tethered cable it is surely "good sense" to NOT leave said cable in public view?
