EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

Hi, that feature was never available. Pressing the left joystick assigns the current speed to the target for the acc.
Switching between acc/tja became as a long press of the wheel drive button and was not available before with shortcuts.
I wish they put something like that to switch between ACC and speed limiter as most of the cars do nowadays.

OK, maybe I got mixed up. I don't use TJA very often. I'll have another go. Thanks.

I've just had the update done and the improvement is very noticeable . One thing I've also noticed and it may be just me, or my car or I'm imagining things is that when I'm in Eco or Normal mode the brakes are sharper than they were previously. Has anyone else noticed this ?

I know that I'm late to this, but I've only had the car a few weeks. Yesterday I had the LKA Update applied (that's how the garage described it). It's made a terrific difference, now I get a few polite beeps when I change lanes without indicating, not a physical battle for control of the vehicle. I'd not have known about the recall without this forum so thanks everyone

Having mine looked at for a split in the rear spoiler on Friday.

Just gone through the dealer's online check-in, and it mentions doing this fix while I'm there.

So I added the undertray brace (by bulletin number) and requested an infotainment update (from R24!) due to "multiple Bluetooth dropouts".
Worth a try, I guess?

UPDATE:-
  • Spoiler photographed so the dealer can ask MG if it's a warranty job.
  • SC077 applied.
  • Infotainment updated to R63 :D
  • Brace ordered for fitment in a couple of weeks
Left LKA on for the drive home and learned that it's now a lot less murderous

Agreed - SC077 applied at our service last week and it has made a huge improvement on some of the roads around here, which are quite twisty, and on which it would do random, but quite severe pulls towards the oncoming traffic lane (once when a fire engine was approaching and about 20 yards away, which made my heart miss a beat!).

So far it has not pulled once, even when it used to regularly do it at certain places. Great improvement!! 💯

Well done! My LKA is now so mild I wonder what the point of it is in the first place. Yes it beeps and that might wake me up, but I do not get the impression that it would prevent me leaving the lane if I'd nodded off. Have they missed a happy medium somewhere?

I only use the vibration and that does work. But I only use alert mode. The so called steering intervention modes kill the ACC.

Yeah, it probably is poor installation of the latest software. I think it is a calibration issue but I'm not sure.
What happens is ACC simply stops in LDWS or ELK mode, often times if something fast approaches from the left when I'm close to lane marker but without the car doing any corrections. In Alert mode it does not happen at all.

I will try that one next Thursday.
Siteguru, when I first disable sound AND next also LKA and then activate TJA, there is no beep at all.
Also, when setup this way the car does not steer back when I go back one lane with the indicator on.

What did you do to get the beep? Deliberately steer across the lane marker?

I agree that SC077 has wider implications than just for LKA. Has anyone noticed a difference in FCA?

My normal supermarket run has the car needing to weave around parked cars. Prior to SC077 with FCA set to medium I received a warning beep as I weaved. Now nothing even when FCA set to high. Recently I set the FCA to high and passed through a town with lots of pedestrians (it was market day) and then received one beep but no intervention.

I am reluctant to permanently set FCA to high as in the past this caused emergency stops when turning right with oncoming traffic.
