Car has been charging at home for about 4 hours now.keep hearing the radiator fan coming on every 30 mins.
Im presuming its because its warm outside

Hi, I dont think it is a radiator fan but could be for the charger unit to keep that cool.

Is the charger liquid cooled?

I don't think so? But if the batterys are getting a bit warm it's probably them just getting managed it keep them in tip top condition

It certainly sounds like the battery cooling system is kicking in, which is unusual on a 7kW charger (assuming your charger is a 7kW).

The charger is in the car that's why it needs cooling and only fed mains from the EVSE.

I probably should have said "assuming you supply is 7kW"
I know the fan sometimes comes on when on a rapid, I didn't think it would on AC, mine never has.

Is the car's charger in the cooling system as well ?

It was on a 7kw charger.first time ive heard it ive charged it many times at home.ill check next time but it has been quite warm

Living in France with temp hovering around 32-36C, have noticed a fan coming on from time to time. Stops when car turned off.

yes its radiator fan , same happening to me when charging in hot weather
