I like the looks though I do prefer estate cars but this is a company car and they went for the HS due to the 70 mile electric range I think. Not sure I like the step appendance on either side. Tends to hit my leg and is no use as a step.

The boot is not as long as the Octavia estate so a bit most awkward to fit equipment in.

Driving dynamics - I feel less dialed in to the road in the HS due to the higher driving position I guess. The Octavia suspension was a bit soft with body roll but it felt good on country roads. I feel less confident in the MG so far.

Engine seems great - today I got 53mph on a long run just using it in hybrid mode with high regenerative braking (which I prefer as you don't need to use the brake as much). This is about the same as the Octavia on a warm day like today, which impressed me as I think the MG must be significantly heavier.

Sound system - seems very bass and treble heavy. I usually play music using the USB Audio Pro app and I had to boost the mid frequencies quite a bit as there seems to be a hole in the frequency response. Also I took one call while driving and it sounded pretty horrible with lots of scratchy treble.

Decent car though. I'd just prefer if it wasnt so big but hey ho!

One more thing - the indicator noise is a bit high pitched for my liking.

I hope you manage to get along with the HS @Herandnu, there might be a setting to change the indicator volume like there is on the MG3 Hybrid?
You can reduce the volume of the vehicle notification sounds (minimum 2), but I don't know if this includes the indicators. They bothered me at first, but I'm already over it after just a week.
 
Second day of driving has been better. I drove 65 miles this morning and am getting used to the handling and found it quite enjoyable.

Still struggling to get the sound system to sound to my liking. I keep making adjustments to the 10 band EQ in USB Audio Pro.

One thing that's bugging me a bit is finding a quick way to change the air temperature. I wish there was something on the android auto screen.

Also the regen had changed back to "low" this morning, seemingly on its own.

Have you tried pressing the talk button and telling it to change to how you prefer?
 
I use the left star key to flip from high to low regen and on mine it does stay to what is selected on shut down/start up.

I do seem to recall that if you cycle through the various drive modes, 'comfort' (or whatever it's called) puts it into low regen. I may have made that up though - I'll check tomorrow. My start up routine is set 'sport', switch off the lane assist (well, to 'alert') and kill the distraction monitoring, so I never cycle through the various drive modes.

Right star key gives me control between EV and HEV.

Welcome to the ex-Skoda iV drivers....! On the boot front, my Superb was a hatch and I use the boot mat in the MG. It's about 6-7" shorter in the MG, exactly the same width and the MG boot is deeper. I prefer the ride in the MG (my iV was a Sportline with electric shocks - wallowy or ok but quite stiff), handling and road handling is very good on the MG.
 
Yeah I think I must have cycled through the comfort setting yesterday and it set it back to low regen. Bit weird that sport doesn't set it to high regen in that case.

I'd much rather have easy access to change temp physically rather than speaking. I was is android auto yesterday and it wasn't understanding what I was saying.

I still think the Octavia IV was easier to drive on country roads.
 
Does anyone else find the steering wheel obscures the top of the display when you have your driving position set up? I don't really want to move the steering wheel down.

Some will, some won't. Where all different. At your ideal driving position, the display is slightly blocked. So move it down, which you don't want to do. Or put up with it. Or perhaps the seat up or down. There's no definite answer to that question. Trial and error. Good luck. 🙂👍

True. However I think the problem is caused by the flat spot at the top of the steering wheel. If I move the seat down it moves the steering wheel up relative to the seat.

Agree. It can be annoying. Had it on my last car, a Merc. To be honest I just lived with it. And forgot about it after a while. 🙂👍

Sport steering mode sucks. Normal is about right. Sport makes the steering heavier and just more awkward on twisty roads. It's harder to position the car where you want it on the road.

I don't like the feel of the steering wheel. It's quite uncomfortable, partly the texture and partly the shape I think.

High regen mode still isn't high enough for my liking. I have to switch to the brake pedal a bit too often. It's a bit unpredictable as well.

If a warning bong is going off the indicator goes quiet which is very weird. You can forget you have the indicator on. Also I still find the indicator noise a bit high pitched and intrusive.
 
I totally agree with you regarding the sound from the indicators and other things going silent when the bong to keep your attention on the road sounds. I think it is prioritising the wrong warning sound.
I don’t mind the sound the indicator makes and although a bit annoying, I generally leave the other bongs on. Over time they seem to learn how you drive and are less intrusive.

All very fair but mostly subjective points and no issue with that.

Personally, I prefer the feel of the steering (and drive mode) in Sport mode. The steering wheel I'm fine with and, as mentioned previously, I use the left star key for regen high/low - regen isn't as strong as in the Superb iV but liveable with and a bit of braking might stop the rear discs from corroding as quickly as they did on the Superb! The Superb had progressive regen depending on speed - higher regen/braking as the speed decreased, especially below 35 mph.

I've noticed the indicator click being blanked by other bongs and I'm convinced it's a new thing only in the last couple of weeks, hence I never noticed it before and I've been driving the car for 9 months and 13k miles. Perhaps the result of a sneaky OTA update?

Yes it may sound like I'm just being negative but it's just little things I'd like to see improved. I think the indicator sound might be something to do with the frequency response of the speakers (does the indicator sound come through the front speakers?) The higher frequencies need tamed a bit. Maybe can adjust it with the EQ, I'll try later
