My first long journey today for work in France, has gone pretty well today, got from Birmingham to my first top up charge at Cobham services, 40% to 80% in 20 minutes. Expensive but quick. Topped up again at Folkestone tunnel crossing from 50% to 90% which was a lot cheaper and also quick. I won’t charge again until I get to the Calais tunnel on my return and hopefully this will get me back home without having to charge again, but we will see. I kept the speed below 70 most of the way, but it was raining hard and I needed to have the blowers on high (time of year in the uk) due to misting up a lot. I never seem to set up the blowers to stop this happening for some reason. No issues so far to report during the first service next week, apart from the terrible radio signal (I know it’s normal but still annoying)
So all in all, I am pretty happy so far

I've always found the dedicated demist button under the infotainment screen works very quickly. I assume it sets all the settings (blower direction, speed, heat and recirculation) to the most efficient for demist. A second press should revert to the previous settings I think.

I would check it's behaving as expected, as some people have reported the blower direction going to a different direction to that displayed.

I need sufficient T with AC on using only the vents towards screen. Maybe up the vent speed but that depends on the outside T. Usually that does it when driving in the rain.
But mine has heatpump. That could change things.

Well on the return trip I identified why I had such a poor signal on my DAB and FM. It seems that my dash cam was interfering with the signal for some reason. As soon as I unplugged from the 12v socket my signal came back. I have no idea why. I’m sure I had the same issue on my Land Rover, so maybe it’s the cam and not the car.

Do you have a rear screen mounted rear camera as part of your dashcam setup? (The radio aerial is the bottom 3 wires on the rear screen - the wires above those are the rear screen demist).

No, it is a dashcam you stick to your windscreen with a sucker, I fed the wire through the trim and then under the passenger front carpet to the 12v under the centre dash. It was the same dashcam that I had on my Disco and I had the same issue until I plugged it into the 12v in the rear

3 years in on the MG4, 98% charged at home - but used Tesla Superchargers (£100-200 a year) as and when - incl Dover & Calais et al = perfect.

I used to have endless annoyance with demist issues until someone recommended just leaving the ac in auto mode. Since then absolutely no problems.
Probably uses a bit of juice but at 7p per kWh who cares..

Went to France earlier this year…. Charge there - so much cheaper than UK 😮

Yeah I think I am coming to the same conclusion on normal driving days, using my home charger, when on long journeys where you have planned stops and you can see your charge dropping it would be nice to have an effective system at lower battery usage. But like you say, normally my comfort is more important
