Fitted dascam in MG5 Trophy

Got round to fitting my dashcam in my MG5 Trophy today, it was far more straight forward than I was expecting. Really unimpressed with the cover behind the interior mirror, very cheap plastic and not fitted very securely.

Hi and thank you for the above posting I want to do the same you say cover behind mirror not very secure how does it come off please mine won’t move and what’s inside it also which fuse did you use for power thank you

Les, I didn't fully remove the cover behind the mirror so don't know what's inside. I just released the smaller (left) side so I could run the cable from the headlining inside the cover and only a small amount of cable is showing underneath which plugs into the camera.

I removed the end panel of the dash which then allowed me to drop the front lower section of dash to access the fuse board. I used fuse F1 for the switch power and the was a small hole in the metalwork behind the dash I was able to insert a nut and bolt for the earth. I then removed the trim alongside the windscreen to run the cable to the headlining and across to the mirror housing (cable was taped beneath the windscreen trim to avoid fowling the airbag).
