A few days ago the field of view of my front-facing and reversing cameras changed. It now looks as though the wide angle got wider. But to much so. Now there is a volcano orange (the car colour) around the periphery of the fish eye view and more of the car’s “bumper”. This is not an improvement as it make the visual more difficult to use. Similar for the rear camera. Now much more of the car’s back visible and harder to judge the distance from an obstacle. At first when I noticed it in the front camera when I manually activated it when manoeuvring, I thought that the camera may have been pushed in slightly but it hadn’t. And since the same thing is happening at the back camera, that must mean it’s something in software. I did some googling and found some unconfirmed discussions that software changes addressing over aggressive lane keeping may have involved changing the camera’s fields of view. But my car was upgraded to … R59 months ago and the camera issue has only just happened. I use the cameras regularly so it is definitely not just something I hadn’t noticed.

Anyone else seen anything like this or know about it? Photos of the images attached

LKA doesn't use those cameras it uses the one at the top of the windscreen.
Good point. I will take this to the dealer and/but I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. Would also be good if someone can post images of their fields of view just in case I am imagining this change. Pretty sure I am not. But would be good to know for certain.

Mine looks exactly like yours. I've had the LKA update but I can't recall it looking any different before the update TBH.

Does the overhead view still stitch the cameras together? If the field of view or angle of a camera had changed then you (the dealer for most) would have recalibrate the alignments to get the continuous image back again.

Looks like the cameras have been pushed back into their housings. Have you washed, waxed or had the car valeted recently?

Yes that’s what it looks like, but I haven’t done either. When I have time, I’ll see if I can get to the back of the cameras and see if there if a gentle push outwards is possible.

Don't know if MG4 is the same but on my car you can change the field of view from the touchscreen.
I looked for adjustments using the settings cog but there wasn’t such an option. Will look again.

It does I think, but will double check in the car.

You have to use the MG diagnostic software to do the camera alignment - along with specific marker boards for the software to find in each camera view and work out the corrections needed.
