Ghosts in the machine

Occasionally my MG4 (June 2023) emits a warning beep followed by a message scrolling down from the top of the driver's screen. Unfortunately, the message disappears virtually instantly, all I can detect is that it appears to be orange. Today's example was accompanied by a powerful jolt as if the EBS had been engaged. Has anybody else experienced this, do we know if there is an event log anywhere that we could examine to understand what's going on?

I'm going to guess that the front camera system (the one on the windscreen) needs repaired/recalibrated.

I get a chime sometimes - and don't know why. Haven't spotted anything on the screen.
