I bought one of these when I got my Xpower and it has worked perfectly for two years.

It comes in a quality zip canvas bag too which I personally now use for carrying all my other "emergency" stuff in the boot

On offer at Amazon today with a significant discount (and in various sizes 5m, 8, 10m) with delivery by tonight atm for Prime members.

Thought I'd post just in case anyone was on the hunt for one

Added to my Wish List, although I'll probably hold off ... I've never yet needed to use the Tesla Type 2 - Type 2 cable I currently have. :)

Insisted we got one of these with the car.

Use it every now again when the free chargers in town are available. Don't really need to use it but if it's free and available why not?

But it has also been very useful when visiting holiday cottages as those have been untethered in my experience. Maybe the cottage owners could have lent a cable if we had asked.

So I'd say it is useful overall, though not essential if you have a tethered charger.

It's worth keeping an eye on Amazon Renewed (used to be warehouse) too. I got a 7m cable for £49 last summer, sealed and in perfect condition. I think it had lust been returned by someone.

I haven't used mine in the wild either but I do use it for charging at home as I have an un-tethered charger.

I notice Tesla still doesn't have them for sale on the app. Perhaps they got pissed off with all the non Tesla owners buying them.

I love destination charging while I'm away. We visit Warner hotels amongst others and use the chargers there overnight to fill up for pootling around after arriving and to have a full enough tank when setting off for home.
It's almost like having the convenience of being at home. :D

Is this different to the standard charging lead supplied that was supplied with my new MGS5?
Asking as I don't have access to a home charger and my nearest charger advertised as 11kw but I was only getting 3.5kw?

Do all Warners have charge points and how much are they?

11kW = 3 phase = 3.7kW max per phase

MGS5 = single phase onboard charger (?), or single phase charging cable used = 3.5kW charge rate

:)

Apologies new to EVs - so do I need to get a three phase charging cable to get 11kW?
No m8, the MGs5 will only charge at 7kw max on AC, it has a single phase charger.
On that 11kw charger you'll only ever get 3.7 because that's all it can put out on a single wire. To be able to make use of all three wires (phases) your onboard charger would have to be 3 phase as well.

Thanks. So if I use a 7kw charger will it charge at 7kw?

@Jomarkh, most Warners have chargers, usually 3kW, but not all work. At Thoresby Hall which is being upgraded to a 'Reserve' Warner hotel they were fitting 22kW chargers, presumably to replace the current 3kW ones. I do not know if the 22kW will need to be paid for but the 3kW ones have been free, so far in the Warners I've visited.
