I didn't use my Mg 4 EV car for 2 months. Now phone mg app only shows car GPS information and other details while I am in the car with Engine running only. After ignition off the app only shows data already saved before. No updated live GPS information etc not available. 12 volt battery is at 12.2 volts. Usually my app always showed 14.2 during idle while I was regularly using the car. If I get back to the routine of everyday driving will my GPS information etc update on live Data readings. Thank you very much 🙏. Is it the fact that the car 12 volt battery has not enough charge to show live GPS information on the app. I did all that I could do as far as a hard reset is concerned several times. Logged out of the app, delete the app and reinstall. Log out in the car and log back in the car. Nothing helped. Does the 12 volt battery charge itself via the internal car EV battery?. During idle time.

The HV battery is supposed to maintain the 12V battery when the car is not powered up but this is not guaranteed and depends on the HV battery's state of charge. (I have experienced this.) You are recommended to disconnect the 12V battery when the car is to be left for a long time. 14.2v is the usual charging voltage

With regards to the app, try to refresh the home page by swiping down. I usually select the state page first and when it shows the car details I go back to the home page and it usually is populated correctly. If not a swipe down does it.

Thank you very much 🙏 for your reply. The HV battery was at 66 % went down to 50 in 45 days. I loose one percent every three days. Looks like the HV battery is trying to maintain the battery at 12.4 which during driving goes to 14.4 . I don't drive the car much. 1100 KMS on the odometer after one year. This is the first time in the year I left the car idle for 50 days. Looks like the only solution is to at least drive decent distances twice a week. In the beginning months after 4 or 5 days of sitting idle the GPS and the rest of the data stays un updated. Then I start the car but don't drive. The GPS and the rest of the information is back. Thank you very much 🙏

Actually I would like to turn off GPS tracking, or at least sometimes.
Is it possible? How?

I found this alternative from GPT I never try yet:
Try remove the 'F6 — 5A — Pedestrian alert module, communication module' fuse,
the part responsible for GPS, modem, and connected‑services functions.
  • F6 — 5A — Pedestrian alert module, communication module
This is the only fuse in the MG4 that explicitly powers the communication module, which includes the telematics hardware used for vehicle localization.

Location

  • Passenger compartment fuse box
  • Behind the driver‑side knee trim panel (same for all MG4 2022–2024 models)

  • How to remove it safely

    1. Turn the car fully off and open the driver door.
    2. Pull off the knee trim panel (held by clips).
    3. Locate F6 (5A) in the fuse board.
    4. Use the fuse puller to remove it straight out.
    5. Expect warning lights until it’s reinstalled.

  • ⚠️ Important notes

    • Removing F6 will disable the communication module, which may affect:
      • GPS localization
      • MG iSmart connectivity
      • Remote tracking
    • Do not replace it with a higher‑amp fuse.
    • MG recommends disconnecting the 12V negative terminal before pulling fuses, though many owners do it without that step.
