GPS showing wrong location (and date)

I normally use Google Maps, but the other day I tried the in-built GPS navigation since Android Auto was not connecting (separate issue with my new Motorola phone not talking nicely with AA Wireless dongle or car, sigh) and it was showing a totally wrong location, several kms away from where I was. I also noticed that the date was incorrect (I am using "GPS date and time") The GPS was indeed working fine before, I had used it a few times with no issues.

Is there a way to re-calibrate or reset the GPS so it gets the proper location data?

Basically NO!
If the GPS is working it should get atomic clock accuracy from the satellites.
If that's not happening it either hasn't got a satellite signal or it's broken.

Although it may need your time zone data, basic time will be UTC, (Greenwich mean time).
So somewhere you may need to add or subtract from that.
This day and age setting location should do, you'd think, and the GPS knows where you are, so I think there's a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

Well, seems it sorted itself out. Probably satellites were taking a break, or too far away and the little MG4 had trouble finding them

got the same issue, when I key in a location it does not find it or send me to another country ? (just got my car this evening still learning ) )

Guys, this is normal case if you under GPS spoofing. For example this is common way to protect from drone attacks in Ukrainian.
