At the moment I'm stuck using a granny charger as the house is on a looped supply and the DNO wont let me fit a charger until I'm de-looped, which going by others will take a long time. The granny charger only puts 2kW in and to get off peak prices, for only 4 hours. I could do with a bit more oomph, say 4 kW at least. I've come across a portable charger the can do this from Third rock energy, has any one got one, used one, are they any good, will they work?

That's like the original Ohme unit on a Commando socket. It can still draw 32a which is the same as an EVSE wall unit.

So will potentially be capable of doing what the DNO dont want to happen before they unloop?

I am on a looped service and ohme still fitted a home pro with load management in January on Friday this week I am getting delooed

My friend has ordered a Skoda Enyaq and he's been told by the DNO that he has to be de-looped before it can be fitted. Considering it's taking Electricity Northwest 6 weeks just to come out and do a survey it's not going to be quick, hence why I want to put a bit more than 2 kW into the battery.

Funny how different DNO works mine (uk power networks) came out with in a week and upgraded the 60amp fuse to 80amp and said that more than adequate as long I have load management but will deloop me at some point later and upgrade to 100amp which was fine be me as I am not going without

As you can see loop on left and 80amp fuse and on the right the fuse unit for charger has a 40amp rcbo inside

When I had my smart meter fitted, the guy checked my fuse and found it was already 100A, even with next door looped into my incoming cable.
